“But if home remedies do not help with Apollo eye infection, then it is time to see a doctor. Do not forget that conjunctivitis can lead to a more serious infection. Therefore, the doctor may prescribe eye drops or even antibiotics, if you have a serious case of the infection. Do not underestimate Apollo eye infection. In the worst case scenario, you can even lose your vision.”

Ogunbor explained that conjunctivitis, commonly known as sore eyes, occurs when the transparent membrane of the eye (conjunctiva) becomes inflamed due to an infection or irritation brought on by bacterial, viral or allergic components.

“When this occurs, the blood vessels within the conjunctiva become inflamed, making the eye to turn visibly pink or reddish. Only a thorough examination will help diagnose the cause of conjunctivitis. While it can be irritating, conjunctivitis affects the vision, if treatment is not sought at the right time,” he said.
