GROUP DRUMS SUPPORT FOR ZONE-13, SEEKS COLLABORATION FOR EFFECTIVE SECURITY

Members of the Great Anambra Youths Renaissance Initiative (GAYRI) group recently paid a courtesy visit to the Assistant Inspector General of the Nigeria Police, Zone-13 in Ukpo, Anambra State, AIG Danmallam Mohammed, fdc, psc, seeking collaboration with the zone and support for the high standard and decorum being exhibited at the take-off of the zone.

The leader of the group and who also is SSA to the Anambra State governor on Youths Development, Mr Eloka Egbunike, eulogize the humble take-off of the zone, pledging the total support of the organization to the relatively young Zone and appreciating the formation for the human faced strategy which the zone deployed in responding to the recent #EndSARS protests that rocked the nation and Anambra State in particular.

Mr Eloka Egbunike who assured the AIG that the organization will effectively collaborate with him and officers of the zone in their quest to safeguard lives and property in the zone, said the zone has commenced their journey commendably in earnest.

Also speaking during the visit, the secretary general of the organization Mr Chigozie Ezeonochie, explained that the organization is a non-Profit, non-governmental movement that is poised to sensitize young people on the need to shun all negative vices capable of ruining their future and which can set the society unto the path of destruction.

According to him “This organization unlike many others out there, are poised to redirecting young people to the path of positive attitudinal rectitude, to have the society rid of all forms of negative distractions,” saying that “we have been organising conferences and symposia to sensitize members of the public against vices capable of ruining the society. We are also giving young people orientations on the need to prepare for viable human resourcefulness and economic development.”

Mr Chigozie further informed the AIG that “We feel that identifying with you having followed your antecedents, which we are sure will help us take our mission to higher grounds.” He continued that “We also wish to intimate you that we have secured approvals from the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State and State Commander NDLEA, for our forthcoming seminar billed for December 2020, where we plan to sensitize the youths on destructive tendencies of Hard Drugs, Cultism and other negative vices, these and many more are part of the numerous programmes we’ve lined up for now and in the future” the secretary said

Responding, the AIG Danmallam Mohammed, assured the group of readiness of the readiness Nigerian Police in zone13, to totally collaborate with the Youths Renaissance Initiative (GAYRI) group, saying that their visit was apt and timely.
The AIG said, security is everyone’s business especially among the young people, thanking the Organization for finding it necessary to seek for collaboration with the zone.

AIG Danmallam, stressed that the South East part of the country remained a peaceful zone, saying that the area however needed more efforts to enhance the peace been enjoyed in the zone.

The AIG charged the group to keep up their commitments toward giving youths hope and proper direction for the benefit of all in the society, assuring them that Zone13, would do everything possible within its powers and ambits of law to give the Youths and people of the zone a sense of inclusiveness in protection of lives and properties.

AIG Danmallam pointed out that the average Anambrian is concerned with the success of his Business and not in joining unnecessary violence agitations that can distort his economy and business, saying that regrettably some youths allowed themselves to be used in the ENDSARS protests, which though initially was peaceful, but was later hijacked by hoodlums, who advantage of the opportunity to loot, rape, maim, kill and destroy Private and Government properties.

The AIG stressed that some of the violent actions were deliberately fuelled by masked and questionable elements to heat up the polity, for them to create a situation of anarchy so as to easily perpetrate their nefarious activities.

AIG Danmallam in his parting words, while appreciating the delegation for their visit, boasted that the Nigeria Police Force are ever ready to live up to their duties and responsibility in the protection of lives and properties of the people.

High points of the visit to the AIG was the display of placards with inscriptions in support of the zone’s systematic approach to security, crime control, conflicts and and crisis management.
