Sanwo-Olu’s wife charge female medical personnel on health initiatives

Mrs Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, Wife of the Governor of Lagos state

The wife of the Lagos state Governor, Mrs Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, has charged female medical personnel in the state to go beyond their hospital duties and responsibilities, and initiate policies that would better the health sector.

Mrs Sanwo-Olu, who is also a medical doctor, spoke at the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja, when she received leaders and members of the Lagos State chapter of the Medical Women Association on a courtesy visit.

She promised to support any idea that would make the state a better place for residents.

She urged doctors who are women to join the association and lend their voices to issues in the medical field.

“All we know to do is to work, work and work and keep patients all the time then forget ourselves. And then we grumble all the time that our presence is not being recognised wherever we are. So, I want to encourage more medical women to be up and doing. Apart from just working inside the hospitals, we should be a voice out there in terms of advocacy in medical field,” Mrs Sanwo-Olu said.
